I had another rough day yesterday going 2-3 for -$165.  The big blow was when the White Sox scored 4 runs in the 8th and the Yankees only won by one run.  That win would have turned my day into a nice winner.  Here are my picks today:

Broncos ML -340 $1,020 to win $300
- Peyton Manning is outstanding in prime time and Denver will be hard to beat at home.  Last year's playoff loss was a fluke and Denver should be able to win this game by 7.  
 
Ravens +14.5 / Under 55.5 $250 to win $192.30
- This teaser was hard to pass up.  I almost took Baltimore at +7.5 so getting +14.5 is plenty.  I also think this will be somewhat low scoring and under 55 for sure.  

Reds -140 $140 to win $100
- Cingrani has been really good and Lynn has had struggled over his last four starts and gave up 7 earned runs in his last start.  The Cardinals have struggled against lefties and the Reds hit righties well. 

Giants -110 $110 to win $100
- Vogelsong has put together a few quality starts lately and pitched very well in his last two home starts against Pittsburgh and Boston.  He likes pitching at home and the Dbacks don't scare me at all. 

Red Sox vs. Yanks under 8.5 -110 $150 to win $136.30
- Nova vs. Peavy normally wouldn't be the best pitching matchup but both guys are on fire lately and I strongly believe we still a lot less runs tonight.  

Rays -170 $340 to win $200
- I really like Tampa to come out and get a lead against Jerome Williams and the Angels tonight.  David Price has a 2.88 ERA on the road and should be able to shut down the light hitting Angels.  Williams has pitched better of late but still has a 5.19 home ERA. 

A's -1.5 -130 $260 to win $200
- I'm back on the Sonny Gray train.  The phenom has a 0.83 ERA at home.  Houston has played okay but the A's are really hot and should be able to score a lot of runs off of Peacock who is coming off two rough starts.

September 4, 2013 Sports Picks

I had a rough day yesterday.  The worst of it was when the Rockies outfielder missed an easy fly ball with two outs and the bases loaded to score three runs pushing the total over 9.  Then the Astros come back and tie the game 6-6 but lose in extras.  Also, the Yankees scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to push that total over.  Crazy things can happen I guess.

For today, here are my picks:

Cubs -164 $328 to win $200
- Chicago should be able to win this game with Samardzija on the hill against Miami and a rookie named Brian Flynn.

Pirates -1.5 +105 $200 to win $210
- Pittsburgh is one of the hottest teams in baseball right now and they have their ace pitching today.  The Brewers have lost four straight when Peralta has started, all by two or more runs.

Rangers vs. A's under 7 -110 $165 to win $150
- Darvish and Parker have been pitching outstanding lately.  The Rangers don't score runs when Darvish pitches.  Over each pitcher's last four starts the total was 7 or less.

Yankees -1.5 +110 $150 to win $165
- New York is much better than Chicago and runs should be scored in this one.  CC Sabathia hasn't pitched well but he is 18-4 against the White Sox in his career.  Chicago is pitching Erik Johnson who is making his major league debut.

Rays vs. Angels under 7.5 -105 $157.50  to win $150
-  Jered Weaver is really good and has a 2.59 ERA at home this year.  Hellickson has struggled this year but has pitched well against the Angels in his career (2.29 ERA).

September 3, 2013 Sports Picks

Yesterday I went 4-3 for +40.  Here are my picks today:

Dodgers vs. Rockies under 9 EVEN $150 to win $150
- LA is one of the hottest teams and has two of the best pitchers in the league in Kershaw and Greinke.  However, Nolasco has been just has good or better than those two guys over his last five starts.  Three of those starts he gave up zero runs.  In his last two starts he has given up 5 hits, 0 runs in 18 innings.  Ricky is locked in right now.  On the other side, Chacin has been pitching very well.  Over his last start he has given up more than 2 earned runs just twice (3,3).  His last start at home he gave up just one hit in seven innings against the Giants. 

O's -105 $157.50 to win $150
- Chris Tillman has put together a very good season and has a record of 15-4.  In his last two starts against Oakland and Boston, two of the best hitting clubs in the league, Tillman surrendered just 3 earned runs in 15 innings.  He has a 2.93 ERA on the road.  Jimenez has been pitching well but still has a 4.73 ERA at home this year.  

White Sox vs. Yankees under 7.5 -120 $120 to win $100
- Sale vs. Kuroda is a great matchup of two pitchers with sub 3 ERAs.  Kuroda has a 1.54 ERA at home and Sale has a 0.49 career ERA against the Yankees.  

Tigers vs. Red Sox under 8.5 -120 $180 to win $150
- Scherzer vs. Lester is another great pitching matchup.  Scherzer is coming off a rough outing but outside of that start he hasn't give up more than 2 runs over his previous seven starts.  Lester has been outstanding over his last five starts and each of those five games finished with total runs at seven or under.  

Tigers -105 $105 to win $100
- I'm banking on Scherzer getting his 20th win and Miggy playing.  If Miggy is not playing in this game I wouldn't do it.  Detroit has a lot of good right handed batters and should be able to score off of Lester.  I see a 4-2 Tigers win.  
 
Astros -120 $240 to win $200
- Jarred Cosart has been very good this year (1.59 ERA) and the Houston bats have come alive.  The Twins are in a rebuilding stage and Hernandez has a 8.31 ERA on the road.
