January 1, 2014 Sports Picks

Here are my plays for today:

Georgia -2.5 / Under 67 6.5 teaser $130 to win $100
- Both GA and Nebraska have their backup QBs starting today but Mason for GA is much better than Nebraska's QB.  Also, the SEC conference has been dominant so far in bowl games.

Georgia / Baylor Parlay $400 to win $150
- Georgia has the overall talent and should play just fine against a sub par Nebraska team who is playing without their star.  Baylor is one of the strongest teams in the nation.  When playing in ideal conditions Baylor can score a lot of points and their defense is really good.

Wisconsin -1.5 $220 to win $200
- Wisconsin has a very solid team both offensively and defensively.  The Badgers have the #8 best rush defense in the nation.  South Carolina does not stop the run very well.  South Carolina did finish the season strong but after a long layoff you can't play the momentum.  They were pretty inconsistent this year even though they went 10-2.  They struggled against average teams like Florida, Kentucky, and UCF. 

LSU / Stanford Parlay $242 to win $200
- LSU has played very well all year.  They've beaten some really good teams like TCU, Auburn, and TX A&M.  The SEC has been very strong in bowl games so far.   I really like Iowa and how they finished their season but LSU has more talent and should be able to scoring against the IA defense.  Iowa runs the ball well but LSU can stop the run.

Stanford Even / Over 33.5 7 pt teaser $140 to win $100
Standford/Baylor Parlay $300 to win $158
- I'm taking Stanford in this game for a few reasons.  This team has an amazing run game and a beat some very good teams this year.  The Pac Ten was very strong this year and Stanford was the cream of the crop.  The teams have very good defenses but Stanford can put up points with their solid run/pass game.  Stanford averaged 33 points per game this year and Michigan St averaged 30 points per game so these teams can score.  Michigan St will need to play a perfect game to win this one but playing without one of their best defensive players (Linebacker Bullough) so it could be tough.

Baylor -17 $110 to win $100
- UCF really struggled in their last two game beating a very bad South Florida team by 3 and SMU by 4.  Their defense has shown some issues by giving up 31 against Penn St, 35 against Louisville and 36 against Temple.  They will need to play a perfect to keep this close.

LSU / Baylor Parlay $500 to win $222
