August 10th Sports Picks

A small win yesterday.  I'll take that over a loss any day.  Here are my picks today:

Tigers -147 $300 to win $204
- Detroit is the hottest team in baseball and today they have a huge pitching edge over the Yankees.  Sanchez has been outstanding over this last four starts where he has only given up 4 earned runs in 26 2/3 innings.  He has a 2.58 ERA on the season.  Hughes has been the complete opposite giving up 14 earned runs in 24 innings over his last four starts.  He's also not so good at home (6.02 ERA).

Blue Jays -1.5 +163 $100 to win $163
- I'm going with the home team here.  Toronto and the A's can put up runs so the RL is the right play for me today.  Buehrle just shut out the A's in Oakland back on July 30th and he is better at home (2.95 ERA).  The Blue Jays are healthy and they should not be overlooked.  The A's are pitching a relief pitcher so that is the unknown.

Giants +116 $130 to win $151
- I'm taking the Giants mainly because they are big underdogs at home with a pitcher who has a 2.56 ERA this year and a 1.88 ERA at home.  Gaudin has been one of the best starting pitchers over the last 30 days.  On the other side is Chen who hasn't been bad at all and I'm actually starting him in my fantasy baseball league today.  But I think the Giants get a few runs off of him and win 3-2.

Tampa vs. Dodgers under 7 -108 $160 to win $148
-Both Greinke and Hernandez have been pitching very well of late.  This game is played in a pitchers park.  Both teams have good offenses but pitching beats hitting more times than not.

Reds vs. Padres under 8 -102 $204 to win $200
- Ross has been great over his last 30 days where he has a 1.35 ERA.  This guy is very good and can shut down any lineup.  Cingrani has been very consistent and could easily shut down the Padres light hitting lineup.

Rangers -200 $200 to win $100
- Texas is just much better than Houston.  Holland is very good, especially on the home (2.61 ERA).  I know its crazy to pay -200 for a road team but I like it!
