August 8th Sports Picks

I took the day off yesterday but I'm back today with more picks.  These are the games I'm going with today:

Marlins vs. Pirates under 6.5 -110 $165 to win $150
- Fernandez has been on a major role since the all star break and has only given up more than 2 earned runs once this season.  Cole has also been pretty good recently and Miami's offense is bound to struggle against Cole.

Cubs -1.5 +150 $150 to win $225
- This game is a pick em money line and I am taking the Cubs so why not get the positive juice in the process?  The Cubs are actually pretty decent on the road and Samardzjia has been hit or miss this year.  He has tossed some gems and I'll take the chance with him over a the Phillies and Ethan Martin who is unproven with only one major league start on his record.
 
Giants -170 $340 to win $200
- I couldn't pass on this game.  Yes, Linecum has been inconsistent this year but he has put together some quality starts lately and gets the light hitting Brewers today.  Tim is also much better in day games this year (2.84 ERA).  Donovan Hand hasn't won a game this year and I think the Giant's bats get hot against him today.

Tigers -1.5 +110 $150 to win $165
- Detroit has the pitching edge today with Scherzer vs. McAllister and when Detroit wins its usually by more than one run.  Go Tigers!

Red Sox under 8.5 -120 $200 to win $166
-  I really like the pitching match-up in this game with Lester vs. Chen.  Lester has a 1.64 career ERA against KC and Chen has been great since moving back into the starting rotation.  He has only given up 4 earned runs in 24 innings.
