October 30, 2013 Sports Picks

I went 3-0 yesterday for +305.  For today, here are my plays:

Cardinals +1.5 -190 $570 to win $300
- St. Louis has the pitching edge today in Wacha vs. Lackey.  Wacha has been unhittable against any not named David Ortiz.  The Cardinals hit righties much better than lefties.  This is an elimination game and they will give it everything they have to try and win.  I really see a close game tonight.

Cardinals vs. Red Sox under 7 -120 $240 to win $200
- Both Wacha and Lackey have been pitching great lately. Wacha has given up just 3 earned runs in his four starts and the St. Louis bullpen has given up zero runs in all of Wacha's playoff starts.  Lackey hasn't been as good but he has good look in his last two playoff starts and his last appearance.  It will be a chilly night in Boston.

NCAA Cincinnati +4.5 / under 51.5 6.5 teaser -130 $260 to win $200
- Cincinnati is 5-2 and coming off a huge win over Kentucky.  They have much more talent than Memphis who is 1-5.  The over/under is tough.  Memphis doesn't have much of an offense so I'm going with the under.

NBA and NHL:

Celtics vs. Raptors under 189.5 $110 to win $100
- Boston is in a rebuilding year but they are coached to play good defense.

Rockets -12.5 $110 to win $100
- Houston is great at home and they get the worst team in the league (Bobcats).

Nuggets +3 $110 to win $100
- Getting Denver as an underdog is great.  Plus they get to play Sacramento who is expected to struggle this year.

Warriors vs. Lakers over 202.5 $110 to win $100
- Golden State will bring last year's momentum into this season.  They have a lot of scorers led by Stephen Curry.  The Lakers are coming off a game last night where they put up 116.

Bruins +120 $100 to win $120
- Boston looks very strong this year and I think they match up well against Pittsburgh.  I like both teams but going with my gut on this one.

My goal on the NBA and NHL games is to go at least 3-2.  I usually like to watch a few games to get a sense of who's good, etc and these bets are based on last year.
