October 7, 2013 Sports Picks

I had a very good day yesterday going 11-5 for +$999.  This past weekend had a lot of very entertaining games.  I strongly believe that Denver can go 16-0 this season.  I loved the play where Manning faked a hand-off on 3rd and goal from the one and ran it in himself.  Everyone was fooled by that fake as who would ever guess that Manning would try and run?  Great Call.  Dallas looked really great on offense as well but I'm guessing this was their Superbowl and they gave it everything they could but came up short.  For Monday, here are my picks:

Falcons -480 $960 to win $200
- Atlanta has historically been very tough at home and play great on Monday night.  Matt Ryan struggled a little last week against the Patriots but I'm sure he'll fix those issues and pick apart the Jets secondary with ease.  New York is bad again this year and Geno Smith will have trouble with all the noise the crowd will generate.  The Jets' best receivers are out.

Falcons - 3.5 / Over 37 6.5 teaser $250 to win $209
- Atlanta's defense is banged up and in both of their home games the totals were 55 and 53.  I think Atlanta can score at least 28 alone so the Jets just need to put up 10 for this game to get over 37.  I think the final will be something like 31-17.  A teaser with the under might not be a bad idea as well.

Pirates +107 $200 to win $214
- I love taking Pittsburgh at home and I am a little surprised they are underdogs.  Morton has a 2.85 ERA at home this year and has pitched very well over the past two months.  Wacha is coming off a one hit shutout but he is young and inexperienced for such a big game and with a crowd that is hard to pitch at (see Cueto).  This is going to be a good game and I see a 4-3 Pirates win.

Pirates +1.5 -160 $320 to win $200
- I'm adding this play just in case Pittsburgh loses by one.  I think this will be a tight game as both pitchers have been pitching at a high level.

Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay under 7 -115 $230 to win $200
- Both Buchholz and Cobb have been outstanding this year.  Buchholz has a 1.74 ERA on the year and a 1.40 ERA on the road.  He also has had great success against the Rays this year (13 innings, 0 Runs, 5 hits).  Alex Cobb looked amazing on Wednesday night against a very good Indians team.  He has outstanding stuff and is pitching at a very high level right now.  I won't bet against Boston and I won't bet against Cobb so the under is the play here.

Tigers -155 $400 to win $258
- Detroit is home and the crowd will be rocking.   Sanchez has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball this year as he finished with a 2.57 ERA and won the AL ERA title.  He also had a 2.05 ERA in September so he finished very strong.  And Sanchez is Detroit's #3 starter?  They really should be the favorites to win the World Series.  For the A's, Parker has had a good season but he was hit hard in his last start and had a 6.41 ERA in September and he has a 21.60 ERA against Detroit this year (3.1 innings, 8 earned runs).

** Added Late:
Dodgers -240 $480 to win $200
- Kershaw is pitching so all systems go for the Dodgers.  Braves struggle on the road and against lefties and Kershaw is the best against lefthanded hitters.
